These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of the Rootline: Ancestry & DNA mobile application ("App"), developed and operated by Horus Teknoloji ve Dijital Hizmetler ("we", "us", or "our"). By downloading or using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using the App, you confirm that you are at least 13 years of age, have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms, and agree to be bound by them.
2. Description of the App
Rootline is an AI-powered entertainment application that analyzes a selfie photograph to generate an estimated ethnic heritage breakdown across global regions. The App is intended for personal entertainment and exploration only.
Important: Rootline is not a genetic testing service. Results are generated by AI based on facial feature analysis and do not represent scientifically verified ancestry, ethnicity, or nationality. Do not make medical, legal, immigration, or any other consequential decisions based on results from this App.
3. User Responsibilities
By using the App, you agree to:
- Submit only photos of yourself or photos for which you have explicit permission from the person depicted
- Not use the App to scan or analyze photos of individuals without their knowledge or consent
- Not use the App for any unlawful, harmful, or discriminatory purpose
- Not attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or extract the App's AI models or source code
- Not use automated tools to access or scrape the App's services
4. Subscriptions & Payments
The App offers optional auto-renewing subscriptions (weekly and yearly) to unlock the full ancestry report. Subscriptions are processed through Apple's App Store and are subject to Apple's payment terms.
- Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the renewal date
- You can manage or cancel your subscription anytime through your Apple ID account settings
- No refunds are provided for partial subscription periods, except as required by applicable law or Apple's refund policies
5. Intellectual Property
All content, technology, designs, and AI models within the App are the exclusive property of Horus Teknoloji ve Dijital Hizmetler and are protected by intellectual property laws. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the App for personal, non-commercial purposes only.
You retain ownership of any photos you submit. By submitting a photo, you grant us a limited license to process that photo solely for the purpose of generating your ancestry result.
6. Disclaimer of Warranties
The App is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not warrant that ancestry results are accurate, complete, or scientifically valid. Your use of the App and reliance on its results is entirely at your own risk.
7. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Horus Teknoloji ve Dijital Hizmetler shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the App. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid in the 12 months preceding the claim.
8. Privacy
Your use of the App is governed by our Privacy Policy, incorporated into these Terms by reference.
9. Termination
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the App at any time if you violate these Terms or engage in conduct harmful to other users or our services.
10. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
11. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Turkey. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Istanbul, Turkey.
